Tournament Info

St. Clair Bass Anglers will be running four tournaments in 2019 

– Tournament fees are $150 CAD per team for Tournaments #1, 2 and 3

​

– Tournament fee for Tournament #4 (Invitational) is $200

​

– There will a Big Fish winner each tournament.  Big Fish payout comes from entry fees.


– All anglers are required to fill out an official entry form when registering on the morning of the tournaments.


– All tournaments begin at 7:00 am, registration will close at 6:45 am

 

– Weigh in is at 3:30 pm at the marina


– To qualify for the Invitational (Tournament #4), teams must fish at least 2 out of the 3 previous tournaments


– Payouts depend on the number of entries


– Anglers are to use their own weigh-in bags


– Team of the Year – There will be a Team of the Year award for the 2019 season. The award will be for the team with the highest weight based on their best 3 weights. The Invitational can be used as one of the Team of the Year qualifying tournaments. Teams must have the same partner for each of their best 3 weights.


–  There will be a 2019 Big Bass award

Rules

–  All anglers will show respect for all of their competitors and have a fun and enjoyable time. All anglers are expected to follow high standards of sportsmanship, courtesy towards others, safety, conservation and obey all laws during club activities. Any violation of good sportsmanship, rules, or laws may result in angler disqualification.


– Cell phones, including texting, are to be used for emergency purposes only during tournament hours. Contact with other anglers, other than for emergency purposes, is strictly prohibited.


– In the case of a boat breakdown, the team’s fish may be transported to the scales by another team ONLY if the team’s fish are tagged and kept separate from the transporting teams fish AND one angler remains with the fish at all times.


– 5 fish limit which may inclue largemouth bass and smallmouth bass


– Anglers may fish with only one rod at a time


– Fish must be at least 12 inches in length. Any fish weighed in that does not meet this requirement cannot be used in the total weight, and a one pound penalty will be assessed


– Only artificial baits are permitted, no live bait is allowed


– There is a 1/2 pound penalty for each dead fish weighed in


– A dead fish may not count towards the Big Bass prize


– All anglers must possess proper licenses for all waters fished


– Boundaries are to be adhered to – see Boundaries section on the website


– Boats must be equipped with working live wells


– Boats must be equipped with a working kill switch


– An approved life jacket or inflatable life jacket must be worn under main power


– A gentleman’s Blast-off will be used following a signal from a tournament official


– Weigh-ins are at 3:30 pm (unless alternate time is announced prior to Blast-off). All boats must be within view of the weigh-in site by 3:30 pm. A 1 pound penalty will be assessed per 5 minutes late. Boats not within view of the weigh-in site by 3:45 pm will be disqualified.


– Anglers are to keep the water in their weigh-in bags during the weigh-in process so fish are returned to boats in water. This will assist in the survival rate of the fish.

– It is encouraged that anglers use soft lip clips for marking their fish in the live well


– No fishing within the home Marina


– Any Angler under the age of 16 MUST be accompanied by an adult


– All teams must have two anglers. There are no one man teams allowed.


– Trolling is not allowed


– Decisions made by tournament organizers are final! 

Boundaries

All tournaments will launch from the City of Windsor Marina (Lakeview Marina). Tournament waters will be limited to the American and the Canadian sides of Lake St. Clair and the Detroit River. All other rivers and tributaries entering and exiting the lake will be off limits.
 

OFAH

All Anglers are to be members of the Ontario Federation of Anglers and Hunters. There will be no exceptions,  you must be an OFHA member to fish the St. Clair Bass Anglers tournaments for 2019. There will be no signing up for OFAH the morning of a tournament. Please give yourself plenty of time and get your membership taken care of early to avoid any missed tournaments. If you have an OFAH membership, we ask that you submit your name, address, and 2019 OFHA membership number to St. Clair Bass Anglers via email so we can keep your info on file.
